Barbara J. Kreisman, Ph.D.



Barbara consults primarily in the areas of individual, team and organizational effectiveness. She is a skilled coach and facilitator and has over 25 years of direct experience in OD/HR-related specialties. She is highly regarded as an expert in the areas of employee motivation, career management and strategic Human Resource planning.

Barbara’s professional experience includes:

A broad range of OD/HR-related specialties including Executive and Organizational Development, Strategic Human Resources Planning, Organizational Effectiveness, Staffing, and Human Resource Management.

Employed by several Fortune 100 companies including Dell Computer, Monsanto and Motorola.

10+ years with Dell Computer during the time the company grew revenue from $400 million to $31 billion and employee population from 700 to over 40,000.


Consulting with clients representing High Tech, Healthcare, Non-Profit, Construction and Manufacturing industries.

Coaching at the CEO/Executive level.

Adjunct faculty member at St. Edwards University--Business Communications.

Barbara’s academic background consists of a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Her area of emphasis was Organizational Behavior and her dissertation topic was "Identifying the Drivers of Employee Dissatisfaction and Turnover". Barbara has conducted additional research on the subject of Executive Derailment and works with organizations to reduce attrition of senior managers and executives. Barbara, who has a Masters Degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Texas, also completed extensive study as part of the Masters in Counseling program at Arizona State University. Her undergraduate degree is in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin.

Barbara is qualified to use numerous diagnostic tools including: The Insights Discovery System, Myers Briggs Type Indicator®, Birkman Method®, Strong Interest Inventory®, FIRO BTM and Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode. She is a certified Team Facilitator, Employee Retention Trainer, Four-Stage Career Model Facilitator and Workforce Diversity Trainer. She is also certified on Side by Side® Organizational and Team Leadership and Virtual CEOTM. Barbara is a member of the Academy of Management, Society of Human Resource Management, ASTD and the Association of Psychological Type.
